Achieving natural rejuvenation is possible

Your face no longer reflects how you truly feel inside: sagging skin and the loss of definition in your jawline can leave you looking tired, a far cry from your inner vitality.

And while you’ve been considering taking the step, you’re understandably concerned about ending up with an artificial result or visible scars.

Imagine restoring the freshness and firmness of your face, rejuvenating up to 15 years with such a natural result that no one will even notice you’ve had any work done.

In as little as 3-4 weeks, you’ll feel confident in front of the mirror and back to your usual self in social situations.

I can help you achieve this.

Here’s how we’ll do it:

  1. Personalized consultation and analysis of real cases similar to yours, helping you make an informed decision with confidence.
  2. We’ll conduct a preoperative evaluation and provide you with a pre-surgical preparation plan, ensuring you’re in the best possible condition for optimal recovery.
  3. We’ll use the most advanced technique (Preservation Extended Deep Plane Facelift), personally performed by a specialist in facial lifting. Because your face deserves someone with experience.
  4. Full support throughout the process: whether you’re in Barcelona or traveling from afar, you’ll have close follow-up to ensure the best recovery.

All of this comes with my commitment to natural results: your expression will remain yours, with no “mask effect” or visible scars.

With the peace of mind that you’re in the hands of a true expert.

Got questions about the technique?

Or about the investment needed for superior and lasting results?

I’m here to answer all your questions.

What exactly is a Deep Plane Facelift?

A Deep Plane Facelift is built on a thorough understanding of facial anatomy and how it naturally ages over time.

Rather than traditional techniques that pull and stretch the skin and underlying muscle layer (SMAS), the Deep Plane approach tackles the real culprit behind sagging: weakened retaining ligaments.

By addressing the root cause, we can restore your facial tissues to where they naturally belong, giving you results that look genuinely refreshed—not “done.”

What’s recovery actually like?

Honestly? Much easier than you’d expect.

My patients are always amazed when I tell them there’s virtually no pain involved. You’ll feel some tightness and discomfort for about 10 days, but simple paracetamol does the trick.

Bruising varies from person to person, and yes, you’ll look a bit rough around the edges for 10-15 days. Most people find two weeks off work is plenty before they’re ready to face the world again.

Why choose Deep Plane over traditional facelift techniques?

There are several compelling reasons, but these three really stand out:

Scarring: Because we’re not pulling on the surface, your incisions heal beautifully. No telltale signs like “pixie ears” or thick, obvious scars.

Natural results: We’re fixing the problem where it starts—sagging ligaments—rather than just pulling skin tight. You won’t get that “windswept” look that screams “facelift,” and your face will move naturally.

Easier recovery: Working with your body’s natural tissue planes means less trauma, which translates to a much more comfortable healing process.

I’m nervous about a full facelift—would a mini-lift work instead?

I’ll be straight with you: mini-lifts are popular for two reasons—they’re easy to market and technically simple to perform, making them attractive to less experienced surgeons.

The reality? They often deliver disappointing results (especially around the neck), don’t last long, and can cause complications like poor scarring and unnatural pulling.

If you’re considering facial rejuvenation, it’s worth doing it properly.

Prudencia
Isn’t Deep Plane more invasive than traditional techniques?

Actually, quite the opposite.

Yes, it’s technically more demanding—it requires years of study and experience to master properly.

That’s precisely why relatively few surgeons offer genuine Deep Plane surgery.

But it’s far gentler on your tissues than conventional methods, which means better results and a smoother recovery.

Deep Plane seems to be everywhere now—how do I know I’m getting the real thing?

You’re absolutely right to be cautious. When something becomes trendy, everyone wants a piece of the action.

Here’s a red flag: if your surgeon also advertises nose jobs, breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and everything else under the sun, they’re not a true Deep Plane specialist.

There’s truth in the saying “jack of all trades, master of none”.

I’m seeing more and more patients seeking revision surgery after disappointing results from surgeons who jumped on the Deep Plane bandwagon without proper expertise.

Your face deserves a genuine specialist.

Are all Deep Plane facelifts the same?

Not even close.

Think of it this way: you could give me and Michelangelo the same paintbrush, but you wouldn’t expect the same masterpiece (I am sorry to disappoint you!).

The technique is just the foundation. The final result depends on surgical skill, artistic eye, and years of dedicated experience.

That’s why nine years ago, I made the decision to focus exclusively on facial surgery—specifically Deep Plane facelifts.

It meant turning away from other procedures, but it allows me to offer you something truly exceptional.

Do you use the hemostatic net?

Never.

You might not have heard of hemostatic net (also called A-net), but it’s become quite fashionable recently. Essentially, it involves placing a web of sutures over your skin to prevent bleeding.

If you saw what it looks like, you’d be horrified. I certainly wouldn’t want it done to me.

This net is only necessary when surgeons do extensive, aggressive undermining of the skin.

I use a refined technique called “Preservation Deep Plane” that minimises tissue disruption, which means:

  • Faster healing
  • Less discomfort
  • Reduced bleeding complications—and no need for that net

Curious about what hemostatic netting looks like? See it here.

(You wouldn’t want that for yourself either, would you?)

What does a Deep Plane Facelift cost?

Here’s the thing about surgical fees: you’re not just paying for a technique—you’re investing in expertise and results.

A £6,000 cataract surgery that restores your sight is infinitely better value than a £1,000 one that leaves you blind.

My Deep Plane facelifts start at £18,000 and may increase depending on additional procedures like eyelid surgery or neck work.

I know it’s a significant investment, but when it comes to your face, you want it done right the first time.

Can I arrange financing?

Absolutely. I work with Tu Medicina Financiada to offer flexible payment options, so you can achieve your goals without financial stress.

Will I need medical tests beforehand?

Yes, like any surgery, we’ll need some basic tests—blood work and an ECG. Occasionally, we might request a chest X-ray.

Nothing too onerous, and we’ll guide you through everything.

Do I need to stay overnight?

I typically recommend staying one night at the clinic with dedicated nursing care, then you’re free to go home the next morning after I’ve seen you and changed your dressings.

Some patients prefer to go home the same day, which is possible if you meet certain criteria for outpatient surgery, but an overnight stay is always more comfortable for you.

Will I need general anaesthetic?

Usually, yes, but I understand many people have concerns about going under.

If you’d prefer, and there are no medical reasons against it, I can offer IV sedation with a specialist anaesthetist who’s expert in facial surgery.

How do I book a consultation?

It’s straightforward. Use the buttons below to  contact via WhatsApp or email, or fill in the online form.

I’ll need some photos first to ensure you’re a good candidate for surgery.

I live outside Barcelona—can we do a video consultation?

We regularly welcome patients from across the UK and Europe, so we know exactly how to make this work for you.

Don’t worry—we’ve developed a streamlined process specifically for international patients.

We’ll start with photos for initial assessment, then arrange a detailed videoconsultation to discuss your goals and create your personalised treatment plan.

Your face deserves a facial rejuvenation specialist

Do you honestly think it’s possible to achieve the highest level in facial surgery whilst also doing nose jobs, liposuction, and breast augmentation?

Exactly.

You can only expect the best results from someone with genuine expertise and focus.

That’s why I offer you what I’d want for myself: an experienced specialist.

Hello, I’m Alejandro Mazarro, a maxillofacial surgeon who specialises in facial and neck lifting. I’ve always believed that the path to excellence runs through hyper-specialisation.

That’s why nine years ago, I made the decision to focus on a very specific area of aesthetic facial surgery: facial rejuvenation. Since then, I’ve dedicated all my efforts to mastering the most advanced techniques so I can offer my patients the best possible result.

In recent years, facelift surgery has undergone a genuine revolution. Traditional techniques (MACS lift, SMASectomy, SMAS plication, high-SMAS, low-SMAS) have become, in my view, outdated.

Our understanding of how time affects facial anatomy has taken a quantum leap, allowing us to work more intelligently to reverse the effects of ageing. Here’s the thing:

Natural rejuvenation isn’t about pulling—it’s about repositioning tissues where they naturally belong.

I’d love to take you into my world, my passion, and show you what I can do for you.
